A search Monday afternoon for a Lincoln man involved in a roll-over accident ended near Syracuse when an Otoe County sheriff's deputy noticed tracks leading from Highway 2 down a steep embankment.
The man originally told dispatchers that he had crashed the car somewhere in Iowa, but the man said he was headed to Lincoln and tower triangulation located the accident between Dunbar and Syracuse.
The man was honking his horn from the car, which slid down the embankment and rolled over more than once before coming to rest on its top.
Deputy Mike Riege said he could not hear the honking over his car's siren, but said he noticed tires marks on the highway and tracks leading into the ditch.
Syracuse fire and rescue lifted the man from the car and carried him up the bank to an ambulance.
Riege said he is hoping to speak with the man at the hospital to learn what caused the accident.
