  • Mary Lu Cullin, 77, of Nebraska City died Aug. 24, 2012 at Jennie Edmundson Medical Center in Council Bluffs. She was born on Oct. 29, 1934 in Omaha to George Fredrick and Clara Marie (Szymanski) Wolf. She attended school in Omaha and graduated from St. Mary’s High School (now Mercy High School) in 1952. She married John Thomas Cullin on Nov. 26, 1955 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Omaha.
    She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Legion of Mary and the Legion Auxiliary and Eagles Auxiliary.
    Lu was a 38-year employee of St. Mary’s Community Hospital in Nebraska City, working in various departments including central supply, out patient clinic and surgery.
    She is survived by her husband, Tom Cullin, of Nebraska City; five children: Kathy Cullin of Papillion, Jeff Cullin and wife Mary of Bellevue, Joni O’Neill and husband Tom of Loveland, Colo., Karen Barrett and husband Tony of Nebraska City, and Brian Cullin of Nebraska City; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers Jack “Yonce” Wolf and wife Bonnie of Omaha, Dick Wolf of Valley and George “Arch” Wolf of Omaha; brother-in-law Gary Cullin and wife Andrea of Nebraska City; sisters-in-law Shirley Hauptman and husband Harry of Des Moines and Barbara Cullin of Norfolk; other family and many friends.
    She was preceded by half-brothers Roger and Buster, and siblings Robert “Bert,” William “Willie,” Tom “Mot,” Clara, Jim and Joe..
    Funeral services are Monday morning at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nebraska City with her grandson Fr. Ryan O‘Neill and Fr. Michael McCabe celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
    The family will greet friends from 6-7 p.m. today, Sunday, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nebraska City. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
    Memorials may be given to the Lourdes Building and Renovation Project in Nebraska City.
