Teams from Nebraska City, Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca and Johnson County Central will compete at the Syracuse Invitational tournament Saturday at the Syracuse Ball Complex.
Action gets underway with three games at 9 a.m.
Nebraska City will clash with S-D-A on Field D. Other matchups have Southern facing Cass County Central and Bennington playing Johnson County Central. Wahoo Bishop Neumann will play Yutan-Mead at 10:45 a.m. in the final first round game.
The loser of the Nebraska City-S-D-A game will play in the consolation bracket at 10:45 a.m., while the winner will advance to the tourney semifinal at 12:30 p.m.
Consolation round winners will play in the fifth place game at 2:15 p.m. Consolation round losers will play in the seventh place game, also at 2:15 p.m.
Semifinal round winners will play in the tourney championship at 4 p.m. Semifinal round losers will play in the third place game at 2:15 p.m.
Nebraska City enters the tourney with a record of 0-4. The Pioneers lost three-games at the season-opening Milford tourney last weekend. Scores of those games had Nebraska City falling to Conestoga, 10-2; Milford, 4-0; and Adams Central, 7-4. The Pioneers dropped a decision to Waverly 10-5 on Thursday night.
S-D-A has played just one game, winning a 13-12 extra-inning affair against Milford on Thursday.
