Orville L. Reed, 71, of Nebraska City died at his home on Aug. 4, 2012. He was born on April 17, 1941 on the family farm near Lincoln to Robert McClain and Florence Louise (Lange) Reed. He graduated from Waverly High School in 1961. He married Maureene Corinne Lindell on Dec. 27, 1969 in St. Louis, Mo.
Orville and Maureene moved to Nebraska City in 1974 from the Lincoln area.
He was a handyman and carpenter for many years. He was a long-time member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was active in the church over the years.
He is survived by wife Maureene Reed of Nebraska City; daughters Margo Woods and husband Jason of Patterson, N.Y., and Corina Reed of Des Moines, Iowa; brother Dennis Reed and wife Sylvia of Lincoln; other family and many friends.
Memorial services are Saturday, Aug. 11, at 3 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Nebraska City with Ken Rice officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later time.
No visitation or viewing is scheduled.
