  •     Robert Edwin Desh, 80, of Palmyra died in Lincoln Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012. He was born March 30, 1932 in Shenandoah, Iowa, to Vivian A. and Julia Mabel (Manley) Desh. He married Patricia Rae Hill May 3 in Shenandoah.

  •     Robert Edwin Desh, 80, of Palmyra died in Lincoln Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012. He was born March 30, 1932 in Shenandoah, Iowa, to Vivian A. and Julia Mabel (Manley) Desh. He married Patricia Rae Hill May 3 in Shenandoah.
     
        He is survived by wife Patricia; sons Robert and wife Barbara Desh, William Desh and friend Hollie LaPorte and Bryan and wife Diana Desh; daughter Kay and husband Allen Steinmeyer; 10 grandchildren, Kerry and husband Gregg Lathrop, Christopher and wife Tina Desh, Angela and  husband Ben Modrell, Brandon and wife Vicky Desh, Trevor and wife Heidi Steinmeyer, Andrew and wife Beth Steinmeyer, Bret Desh, Samantha Desh, Dena Lorenson and Devan Lorenson; great grandchildren Ian Lathrop, Jaylon Steinmeyer, Riley Steinmeyer, Paisley Steinmeyer and Ella Desh; sister Mary Clemens; and brother-in-law Ron and wife Kathy Green.
     
        He was preceded by sister Joan Green.
     
        He worked in the printing field as a bookbinder.
     
        He served in the Army from 1952-1954 and Reserves for seven years. He served in the Korean War and was stationed at Hodcida, Japan.
     
        He was a past member of the Lincoln Continentals Barbershop Choirs, past member of the Palmyra Fire & Rescue and the American Legion Post #195.
     
        Funeral service is Wednesday Aug. 15, at 11 a.m. at the Palmyra Presbyterian Church with Rev. Sara Dingman-Lavigne officiating.
     
        Pallbearers are Richard Jurey, Jim Kohler, Wayne Wallen, Rick Wheatley, Roger Smith and Ralph Arett.
     
        Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice.
     
        The casket will be closed and no visitation is scheduled.
     
        Fusselman Allen Harvey Funeral Home, Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.
