Nebraska City found itself down 8-3 at the mid-point of Sunday’s elimination game against Springfield (Platteview) at the Class B Area One Juniors American Legion tourney at Plattsmouth.

An eight-run inning sparked Nebraska City and kept their tourney hopes alive. Nebraska City, which  ended up winning 13-8, advances to a clash against Lincoln Christian at 5 p.m. tonight.

Gretna will play Waverly at 8 p.m. tonight in the winner’s bracket.

The winner of Nebraska City-Lincoln Christian will play an elimination game against the loser of Gretna-Waverly at 7 p.m. Tuesday night with the winner of that contest advancing to the tourney championship at 5 p.m. on Wednesday against the winner of Gretna-Waverly.

Tuesday’s winner would need to record wins in both halves of a championship doubleheader Wednesday to advance to the state tournament, which will be in Chadron this year.
