  • Victims' description of a fog light that was not working on the car that robbers left Steinhart Park with on June 27 helped lead Plattsmouth police to the suspects.
Three Nebraska City youths were robbed at gun and knife point and ordered to swim into the Steinhart Pond.
They told police the robbers left in a green car that did not have a front license plate. The lights were on, they said, but the fog light below the driver's side lamp was not working.
Plattsmouth police later stopped a green Pontiac Bonneville because its lower driver's side fog light was not working.
Samuel Mier, 25, and Cynthia Cashman, 23, both of Topeka, Kan., were arrested and later charged with the robbery.

Prosecutors said the victim's personal items and $415 in cash were found in the Bonneville. A gun and knife were also found in the vehicle.
