Four Nebraska City fast pitch softball teams hosted Auburn for games Monday night at the softball complex.
Three of the games went to overtime with the Nebraska City 12-and-under team picking up a win, while the Nebraska City 10-and-under and 14-and-under teams lost close decisions.
The Nebraska City 18’s team, fresh off its second place finish at the Blue Springs Tournament last weekend, found themselves down on the scoreboard Monday night after Auburn posted a big inning in the second frame.
Nebraska City was down 10-1, but rallied to within five before falling short.
In other notes regarding the 18s team, KayeLynn Tyson pitched two games during the team’s second place finish at Blue Springs. She also recently hit a home run against Palmyra, the first over-the-fence homer of her career.
Hitting extra base hits for the Nebraska City 18s on Monday were Halsey Volkmer and Tyson, triples, and Roxann Scroggins, double. Evy Causgrove also pitched admirably in releif during the loss to Auburn.
