  • Kay E. Pfeiffer, 51, of Columbus died Thursday, May 31, 2012 at the Columbus Community Hospital. She was born Oct. 13, 1960 in Omaha to Richard and Faye (Dover) Stivers. She grew up in Union and graduated from high school in Nehwaka, then attended Southeast Community College in Milford. She married Richard Pfeiffer on Dec. 15, 1979 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paul. She moved to Columbus in 1981.

  • Kay E. Pfeiffer, 51, of Columbus died Thursday, May 31, 2012 at the Columbus Community Hospital. She was born Oct. 13, 1960 in Omaha to Richard and Faye (Dover) Stivers. She grew up in Union and graduated from high school in Nehwaka, then attended Southeast Community College in Milford. She married Richard Pfeiffer on Dec. 15, 1979 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paul. She moved to Columbus in 1981.
     
    She worked at Columbus Bank and Trust for 31 years as operations officer. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. She enjoyed her grandchildren, camping, four wheeling and shopping with the girls.
     
    She is survived by her husband Rick of Columbus; daughter Lisa (Kevin) Perrin of Columbus; son Matt (Brandice) Pfeiffer of Grand Island, sister Michelle (Jim) Hanson of Omaha; grandsons Hayden and Logan Pfeiffer of Grand Island; granddaughters Celine and Elyena Perrin of Columbus; mother and stepfather Faye and Doil Peckumn of Del Norte, Colo.; father and stepmother Richard and Rhonda Stivers of Auburn; mother-in-law Shirley Pfeiffer of Talmage; sisters-in-law Betty (Rick) Kuehn of Eddyville and Lora (Kevin) Barrett of Nebraska City; and brother-in-law Larry (Teresa) Pfeiffer of Cook.
    She was preceded by brother Michael Stivers; grandparents Earl and Onilee Stivers and Ralph and Eva Dover; great grandmother Nettie Nincehelser; and father-in-law Glen Pfeiffer.
     
    Memorials are suggested to The National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
     
    Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 4, at  St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus with Rev. Mike Keating officiating.
     
    A vigil is at 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 3 at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Sunday and 8-10 a.m. a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
     
    Interment is at All Saints Cemetery in Columbus.
