A pair of three-sport athletes were named as athletes of the year during the Nebraska City High School Awards show earlier this week.
Taylor DeVorss, a volleyball, basketball and track athlete, was named as the Tim Hall Female Athlete of the Year.
DeVorss proved her versatility by featuring her skills both as a libero and also as an offensive force in helping the Pioneers to an 11-win volleyball season during the fall.
DeVorss, who is also a standout in the classroom, will be continuing her athletic career with the Midland University Volleyball program.
Jaime Loarca, who competed in football, wrestling and soccer for the Pioneers, was named as the Clemmy Holmes Male Athlete of the Year.
Loarca’s skills on the soccer field helped the Pioneers to a winning record this spring.
