• Pioneers set to compete at Shockey Invite

  • The Nebraska City Pioneer baseball team will open play in the Curt Shockey Baseball Tournament at Orval Smith Field at Ralston on April 26 by taking on Fremont-Bergan at 2 p.m.

  • The Nebraska City Pioneer baseball team will open play in the Curt Shockey Baseball Tournament at Orval Smith Field at Ralston on April 26 by taking on Fremont-Bergan at 2 p.m.


    With a win, the Pioneers would advance to play tourney top seed Omaha Skutt at 7 p.m. on April 26.

    With a loss in the 2 p.m. game, the Pioneers would fall to the consolation bracket for a 3 p.m. game on April 27.

    A win in the 2 p.m. game, followed by a win in the 7 p.m. game would put the Pioneers in the tourney title game at 5:30 p.m. on April 27.

    Also of note, the Pioneer team lost to Elkhorn on Tuesday.
