Pioneers set to compete at Shockey Invite

The Nebraska City Pioneer baseball team will open play in the Curt Shockey Baseball Tournament at Orval Smith Field at Ralston on April 26 by taking on Fremont-Bergan at 2 p.m.

With a win, the Pioneers would advance to play tourney top seed Omaha Skutt at 7 p.m. on April 26.

With a loss in the 2 p.m. game, the Pioneers would fall to the consolation bracket for a 3 p.m. game on April 27.

A win in the 2 p.m. game, followed by a win in the 7 p.m. game would put the Pioneers in the tourney title game at 5:30 p.m. on April 27.

Also of note, the Pioneer team lost to Elkhorn on Tuesday.
