  • Nebraska City led after nine holes of its home golf meet Thursday in less than ideal conditions at Wildwood golf course.
The Pioneers score inflated a bit during the back nine and the team fell a bit in the standings, but Nebraska City still ended up fourth overall at 360, a scant four shots off the championship pace of Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca.
The Rockets shot 356, followed by Plattsmouth, 358, and Platteview, 359.
Waverly finished behind the Pioneers at 370.
Nishnabotna finished ninth at the tourney with a 428.
In terms of individual medalists, Blayne Roberts was second overall, Harrison Agena was ninth and Micah Buller was 14th to lead the Rockets. Aaron Moyer shot fourth and Matt Gress shot sixth to pace the Pioneers.
And Tyler Beam was the top shooter for Nishnabotna. The Blue Devil would have medaled, but lost out on scorecard playoffs.
