  • The three-day Wine, Writers and Song Weekend is scheduled at Brownville April 13-15.
    The 10th annual festival includes a kick-off held event on the three-deck, floating bed and breakfast, the River Inn, on Friday, April 13 from 5 to 9 p.m.
    Writers, musicians, villagers and guests will share a dinner and the band Midwest Dilemma and friends will play.

     This event is sponsored by the merchants of Brownville, the River Inn, and Scott and Linda Atwater.
    Saturday, April 14, is the opening season of all the village’s businesses, including three new ones.
    Rides on The Spirit of Brownville begin at 3 p.m., and writers are scheduled at the winery between 8 and 10 p.m.  Sum Guise, one of the area’s most popular bands, will play at the Whiskey Run Creek Winery and Vineyard.
    Sunday’s finale features an open house from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Brownville Village Theatre Actors’ Residence with readings by 15 writer’s Workshop guests led by Pittsburgh, Penn. writer Sherrie Flick.
    After a lunch break, the Lyceum bookstore will host “free range readings.”
    The even it hosted by Rex Walton and Jane Smith and includes writers Denise Banker, Todd Robinson, Barbara Salvatore, Liz Kay, Marge Saiser, Kelly Madigan, Art Homer, J V Brummels, Karen Shoemaker, Amy Plettner, Lisa Sandlin and Richard Wyatt.
