Dale Hillman, 83, of Syracuse died at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Lincoln on March 28, 2011. He was born?Jan. 12, 1928 at Unadilla to Henry Fritz and Emma (Knickman) Hillman. He married Maxine Juilfs Sept. 22, 1948 at Christ Lutheran (Delaware), rural Syracuse.
He is survived by wife Maxine Hillman of Syracuse; sons Darrell and wife Pam of Syracuse and Dan and wife Judy of Syracuse; daughter Pam Hillman of LaVista; brother Harlan and wife Kay Hillman of Syracuse; sister-in-law Ramona Hillman of Syracuse; five grandchildren, Jaime Smith, Travis Hillman, Tyler Hillman, Bryan Hillman and Clint Hillman; four great grandchildren, Collin and Karli Hillman and Leah and Amber Smith; and other family and friends.
He was preceded by his parents; parents-in-law Herman and Leila Juilfs, and brother Lloyd Hillman.
He was a farmer. He was a member of the Eagles Club in Nebraska City and served on District 40 school board, NRD watershed, Syracuse rural fire, ASCS Board, NFO Board and Church Council. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, and playing with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He went to the farm every day.
Funeral services are Friday, April 1, at 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran (Delaware) rural Syracuse with Rev. Amalia Spruth-Janssen officiating.
Pallbearers are Travis Hillman, Tyler Hillman, Bryan Hillman, Clint Hillman, Darin Smith, and nephews Allan Hillman, Richard Hillman.
Burial is at Christ Lutheran (Delaware) Cemetery, Syracuse.
Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice.
Visitation is March 31 from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
