   Nancy Hoch, who was instrumental in getting the facility built, thanked the Center’s many partners and said the transfer was 15 years in the making.

Supporters of the Lewis and Clark Center gathered Sunday night for a banquet to celebrate the transfer of the Center from the National Park Service to the local Missouri River Basin Lewis and Clark Interpretative Trails and Visitor Center Foundation, Inc.
   Nancy Hoch, who was instrumental in getting the facility built, thanked the Center’s many partners and said the transfer was 15 years in the making.
   Hoch said future plans for the Center include developing the aspects that relate to Thomas Jefferson and focusing more on the Missouri River.
   She said the focus will also be on welcoming new members.  “We look forward to having people involved in the Center,” Hoch said.
   She said the transfer marks the beginning of a new phase for the Center.  “We look forward to many years ahead as we kick off this journey that we’re on,” she said.
