Do you remember the popular song of the late 50’s that said the houses being built then were just "little boxes filled with ticky-tack?" Certainly no one could say that about the many old imposing homes built in the late 1800’s in Otoe County. Many are gone now, but a few grand homes still exist and are occupied in Nebraska City. Some, such as Arbor Lodge and Wildwood, are listed in the National Register of Historic Places and are open to the public.
