    • The largest fundraiser for cancer research in Otoe County is the Relay for Life, which kicked off the evening of June 9 at South Park in Syracuse. This year's theme was "Going for the Gold". The first lap of the relay was taken by cancer survivors, who wore the traditional purple shirts and carried Olympic-style "torches". The event went through the night and ended Sunday morning.
